IAIC’s team of dedicated professionals includes accountants, financial planners and investment managers with extensive skills, experience and knowledge. Our team works in an integrated and collaborative fashion, continuously interacting to ensure we are providing clients with vision, focus and balance in their financial well being.

Steve Doty CPA, CA


Steve joined IAIC in 2011 and has more than 30 years of accounting firm and financial services experience.


After 11 years with a Big Four accounting firm and another 16 years with a financial services organization managing more than $20 billion of investments for its clients, Steve had an immediate appreciation for the value and uniqueness of the IAIC model, which emphasizes the integration of financial planning and investment management with the services of the client’s accountant.  In fact, Steve admired the model so much, he became an IAIC client for two years before he joined IAIC staff as an employee.  Steve holds a BComm (Honours) from the University of Ottawa, is a Chartered Professional Accountant and has served on several non-profit boards, including his current role with the Sandra Schmirler Foundation. Steve enjoys curling, golf and performing with an amateur cover band.

Joel Baker CIM, MBA
Chief Investment Officer


Joel has been a pioneering member of the IAIC team since 2000. After earning a BBA from Brock University in 1994 and an MBA from the University of Windsor in 1995, Joel began his career as a staff accountant with IAIC member accounting firm Ward and Uptigrove. Joel specialized in the preparation of financial statements and corporate returns for investment companies.


In his 19 years working at IAIC, Joel has been an instrumental contributor to establishing, monitoring and adjusting IAIC’s overall investment strategy. IAIC is a perfect complement to Joel's accounting background, education and personal interest in finance. 


As IAIC’s CIO, Joel leads the organization in following a value-based investment approach for all clients.

Mike joined IAIC in 2016 and has more than 20 years of senior management experience in different industries, including finance, home health care and IT.  After earning his B.Comm from the University of Ottawa, Mike began his career in banking providing financial advice and products for clients.  Mike then spent 9 years managing the back-office for a growing Mutual Fund company and later an Investment Management firm where he assisted with taking the company public.  Mike then was involved in the acquisition of an IT company and managed their client services department for 6 years.  Most recently Mike spent four years with a Home Heath Care company managing their operations in the greater Ottawa area. 


As IAIC’s COO, Mike is responsible for the execution of its annual operating plan, client service and the enhancement of internal processes and systems.

Sam Zahnd CPA, CGA

Chief Financial Officer & Chief Compliance Officer


Sam joined IAIC in 2016 and has more than 12 years of senior management experience in different industries, including finance, real estate and manufacturing.  


After earning his B.Comm from the University of Guelph in 2004, Sam began his career managing a real estate business, responsible for all financial and compliance matters for the firm. Sam then spent five years with an international manufacturing company in senior management, successfully establishing its Canadian operations.  Most recently Sam spent four years with a national agricultural lending institution working in various roles.  





Gord Hardie, VP Financial Planning

Vice President, Financial Planning


Gord began his career in wealth management in 1992 and has worked at various national financial services firms as both a Senior Financial Consultant and a Regional Manager. Throughout his career, Gord has attained several licences and accreditations from various governing financial service bodies.  Gord joined IAIC in 2010 to lead the newly established financial planning division of the organization. 


As the Vice President, Financial Planning, Gord is responsible for both managing the division, as well as providing comprehensive financial plans for our clients.

Karin McNabb, VP Marketing



Karin McNabb B.A, CM

Vice President, Marketing

Karin combines her entrepreneurial spirit with nearly 25 years of experience in business development, marketing and communications, product management and business intelligence to lead IAIC’s marketing and communications activities.


Karin has worked as a self-employed consultant in the high-tech and financial services industries and has held senior level roles in companies like Research in Motion, RDM Corporation and Manulife Financial. Karin has served and been the chairperson on several key financial services committees including: the ETA Technology Committee, NACHA ECC Communications Committee, ANSI X9B and the FSTC.  


Karin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Waterloo and in December 2017 was granted the Chartered Marketer designation from the Canadian Marketing Association (CMA).



Oliver Lee B.Math       

Vice President, Life & Living Benefits 


Oliver joined the organization in January 2018, assuming the leadership role for the Life Insurance and Living Benefits company, Independent Accountants' Life Insurance Agency Inc.


Since obtaining his B.Math Actuarial Science degree from the University of Waterloo in 1993, Oliver began his career with a major Canadian insurance company.  Throughout his 25 year history at the company, Oliver traversed roles in both the field and corporate headquarters, allowing him to gain a strong understanding of the insurance industry across all facets. These roles included direct support to independent advisors and clients on their insurance and estate planning needs. His passion comes from the desire to help and educate.


Oliver is accomplished at translating complex technical concepts into relatable examples that allow others to understand the intricacies of insurance products and services. 


Steve Cornell, AR

Advising Representative


Steve has led an esteemed career as an associate actuary, financial analyst and portfolio manager for more than 25 years. After graduating from the University of Western Ontario in 1985 with a BSc in Statistics and Actuarial Science, Steve began an extensive actuarial career working for leading Canadian life insurance and finance companies. Steve performed a variety of pricing, valuation and investment functions and in 1995, obtained an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation. In 2006, Steve obtained his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Steve holds memberships in the CFA Institute, the Toronto Society of Financial Analysts, the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.


Steve joined IAIC in 2003, recognizing that his expertise in pensions, wealth management valuation and personal investment philosophy, was a perfect fit with IAIC's value-based approach and customized portfolio management.

Michael Williams. AR


Michael Williams CFA, MBA, MTax, P.Eng, PCAM

Advising Representative


Mike Williams is an experienced and highly knowledgeable Portfolio Manager who plays an instrumental role in ensuring clients have diversified, value-based and disciplined portfolios. Mike graduated with an Engineering degree from the University of Waterloo in 1987. Later in his career, Mike graduated with an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University, completed a post-graduate MBA from York University, and completed a Masters of Taxation at the University of Waterloo. Mike holds an executive position with the Kitchener-Waterloo Progressive Conservative Association, Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of a publicly traded company, and holds memberships in the CFA Institute, the Toronto Society of Financial Analysts and the Professional Engineers of Ontario. Mike serves as a mentor with the University of Waterloo, School of Accountancy and Finance.


Mike joined IAIC in 2003 as he felt the firm was better positioned than others as it offered clients a truly integrated approach to wealth management.

Fabio Pucci, AR

Fabio has more than 25 years of experience specializing in investment services. A graduate of the University of Waterloo with a degree in Economics, he began his career providing investment services at a major capital management company in 1984.  As a private investor representative, Fabio developed a value focused approach and an interest in portfolio management.  Fabio has attained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder designation. Fabio is a local committee member of the Toronto CFA Society. 


Fabio joined IAIC in 2010, providing clients with value-based investing and customized portfolio management.

Krishna Beharry, AR

Advising Representative


Krishna has worked in the investment representative field for more than 10 years. After graduating with a degree in Economics and Sociology from Dalhousie University in 1998, Krishna began his career as a Registered Investment Representative with a large brokerage company where he traded in both North American and international equities and options. Krishna was responsible for trade investigations, as well as authorizing sophisticated trading activities by junior Investment Representatives. While at that firm, he was also a pioneering member of its Financial Planning platform, where he managed a team of Registered Financial Planners based in Western Canada.  Krishna joined IAIC in 2005.



Patrick Tryon, AR  

Patrick Tryon CIM

Advising Representative


Pat's investment career spans more than 25 years. His experience comprises stints at several of the country's largest pension fund managers in research and portfolio management as well as exposure to the world of Private Equity and Private Debt.? It also includes time at an investment boutique managing private client portfolios.


Pat is a graduate from McGill University, used to play badminton, winning both silver and bronze medals at the Commonwealth Games, 4x national champion. He is also an enthusiastic golfer.



Jordan Carter, AR

Advising Representative

Jordan earned his CIM designation in 2016 and currently supports clients in the capacity of an Advising Representative. Jordan joined IAIC in 2011 when IAIC expanded its ICPM Support Services division in order to provide additional resources to its advising representatives. 


After receiving a diploma in Business Administration Financial Planning from Conestoga College in 2009, Jordan attended Griffith University in Queensland Australia, graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 2010.



Brian Durno, AR

Advising Representative


Brian is a seasoned Advising Representative with over 22 years of investment experience.  Brian earned an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University in 1995.  Most recently, Brian was the Co-Founder, Co-Chief Investment Officer and Director of a boutique investment management company. Brian was a Portfolio Manager of a fund that invested in conservative, large-capitalization, equity securities on behalf of its high net worth clients. Prior to starting his own company, Brian spent five years as an equity analyst with Brookfield Soundvest Capital Management in Ottawa. He also has experience managing client portfolios and providing investment advice while working for two leading Canadian financial institutions earlier in his career. Brian is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Ottawa. Brian is a Certified Financial Planner and a Chartered Financial Analyst Charterholder.



Brian joined IAIC in 2016, where he will provide clients with a disciplined, value oriented investment approach and a customized portfolio.

Michael Davies, AR

Michael Davies CPA, CA, CIM 

Advising Representative


Mike graduated from Wilfred Laurier University with an undergraduate degree in Economics prior to earning his CA designation in 1976 with a national accounting firm. Mike was a partner with Ford Keast LLP, Chartered Accountants, in London, Ontario, assisting many owner-managed businesses on various tax, financial and valuation matters over a 36 year career. Mike also served on the Board of Directors of IAIC's parent company from 2000 until 2011 giving him a unique insight into IAIC's vision and goals.  Subsequent to retiring from Ford Keast LLP in 2012, Mike joined the IAIC team and obtained his CIM designation in January 2014. 


Mike believes our dedicated, disciplined and customized approach to Investment Management brings to our clients a product clearly meant to meet the specific goals of their Financial Plan.



Candis Fitch CIM, CIWM

Advising Representative 


Candis is a registered Advising Representative working as part of the Portfolio Management team. 


Candis joined the IAIC team in 2013 after working at one of Canada’s major retail banks.  She graduated from Brock University in 2013 with an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration, Concentration in Finance. 


Candis earned her CIM designation in 2015 and and her Certified International Wealth Manager (CIWM) designation in 2018. 


Lee Grimshaw CFA, ICD

Advising Representative 


Lee spent 14 years at a major chartered bank and was a managing director of the banks proprietary $600M pool of private equity and high yield debt investments.  Formerly based in Vancouver, Lee’s last role was as Managing Director, where he had direct oversight of investments, limited partnership investing, and regional team management. Previous to this, Lee obtained operating-company expertise in areas such as Aircraft Engines, Aerospace and Appliances, in addition to ten years of leveraged buyout experience.  


Lee holds a degree in Commerce, has an MBA, and is a CFA charterholder. He is also an alumnus of the GE Financial Management Program and has served on numerous private company boards spanning a variety of industries (such as structured wood products, healthcare, food processing, technology,  manufacturing, waste management and seismic processing).



David Gill CFA

Advising Representative 


David is an investment professional with over 20 years of experience in the asset management industry. 


He has held roles in business development, client service, and research and portfolio management. 

David is passionate about the capital markets and has an unwavering focus on helping clients achieve better financial outcomes. He spent most of his career working in the investment division at one of Canada’s largest financial institutions before joining IAIC in 2019 as a Portfolio Manager, Advising Representative. 


David holds a Masters of Business Administration (Western University) and is a CFA Charterholder. 

Steve Rapson, FP

Steve is an experienced and skilled financial planner with over 20 years of experience. A graduate of the University of Toronto in 1987, Steve launched his career in Wealth Management working at various banks and investment firms.  In 1997, Steve joined a national financial services firm where he served as Senior Financial Consultant, providing investment and financial planning advice to high net worth clients.  Steve joined IAIC in 2010 as the organization's first Senior Financial Planner.


As a Senior Financial Planner, Steve is responsible for providing comprehensive financial plans for our clients.

Ashley Aylward, FP

Financial Planner

Team Lead


Ashley joined IAIC in March 2015,  and is responsbible for creating comprehensive financial plans for IAIC clients in addition to providing leadership direction for the day-to-day operations as Team Lead.

Ashley graduated from Fanshawe College with a diploma in Business Finance in 2014 and obtained her CFP designation in 2020.


Ashley has a strong sense of customer service and is committed to the value of building strong client relationships.


Ashley is an avid outdoors person who loves to try new things. She is committed to her community and currently serves as President of BBBS of Listowel & District and is the President of the North Perth Chamber of Commerce. 


Grant Roberts

Associate Financial Planner


Grant is one of the newest members of the Financial Planning Team supporting the team in their delivery of comprehensive and focussed financial planning deliverables.


Grant graduated from Carleton University in December of 2015 with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree. He is currently pursuing his QAFP. 


Grant believes that excellent customer service is the backbone to all great organizations and is a big fan of Hockey and Football. 




Matthew McCracken


Associate Financial Planner


Matt is one of the newest members of the Financial Planning Team supporting IAIC clients with the creation of financial plans. 


Matt graduated from Fanshawe College in 2017 from the Business Finance Program. He is currently pursuing his CFP designation. 


Matt is an avid fan of all sports. He enjoys playing golf and baseball in the summer and hockey in the winter.





Matt Town CIM

Advising Representative, ICPMSS Team Lead


Matt first joined IAIC as a summer student in 2010.  During this time Matt assisted the organization on several operational projects within the ICPM Support Services division.   Matt graduated from the University of Guelph with a BA degree in 2013 where his main area of study was economics.   After graduating, Matt joined IAIC's ICPMS Support Services division full-time.  


As a member of IAIC's ICPM Support Service team, Matt supports the organization's portfolio managers by performing research and assisting with client matters.

Wendy Ross, Trader

Wendy Ross


Wendy earned her Business Diploma from Lougheed College in Waterloo and worked in the retail banking industry for 17 years in roles that varied from Teller, to Loans Officer and Financial Advisor.  


Wendy is responsible for the trading activities for IAIC. Wendy joined IAIC in 2001.

Maria Wus, AAR

Advising Representative


Maria has 20 years' of experience specializing in investment research and portfolio management.  After graduating from the University of Toronto in 1999 with a degree in Commerce and Finance, Maria started her career as an Investment Analyst with pension/endowment fund where she built a solid knowledge of portfolio management.  At that time, she was also introduced to Private Equity and Real Assets investing.  Maria continued to build her knowledge and experience by working at a Wealth Management organization and a Single-Family Office.  Maria holds Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designations.



Maria joined IAIC in 2016 as a member of ICPM Support Services team where she supports the organization’s portfolio managers by performing research and assisting with client matters



Grayson Waechter

Prior to joining IAIC Grayson worked at a major Canadian Bank in its retail division.  Grayson has earned an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree specializing in Finance from the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa in 2014 and has also completed a diploma in financial planning from Conestoga Collage. Grayson is currently working towards becoming a CFA Charterholder.
As a member of IAIC's ICPM Support Services team, Grayson supports the organization's portfolio managers by performing research and assisting with client matters.



Robert Montague B.A. CFP, CIM

Associate Advising Representative


Over the last 25 years Robert worked at one of the Chartered Banks and Canada’s largest insurance company providing the highest quality Investment, Retirement and Estate Planning advice and services to his clients. He joined RCIC in 2017, as Senior Financial Planner and Associate Advising Representative for IAIC in 2019.


He is a holder of the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designations. Robert holds memberships with FP Canada, the Toronto Society of Financial Analysts and the CFA Institute.


Robert enjoys working with clients helping them to achieve their financial goals and investment objectives by developing comprehensive Financial and Retirement Plans. 


Jonathan Ebrahimi

Investment Analyst


Jonathan graduated in April 2015 from Wilfrid Laurier University earning an Honors Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree, with a concentration in finance and minoring in Economics. While at university Jonathan was introduced to the importance of solid financial planning and decided to pursue a career where he would be able to provide that comfort and guidance others.  

Jonathan joined IAIC in May 2015 in the capacity of an Associate Financial Planner, assisting the financial planning team in all aspects of creating financial plans for IAIC clients. In 2017, Jonathan joined the ICPM Support Services team where he now supports IAIC's portfolio managers, performing research and assisting with various client matters.


Matthew Hoggarth CIM

Investment Analyst


Prior to joining IAIC Matt worked in the hedge fund administration industry as a Senior Fund Accountant at MUFG Fund Services in Waterloo.


Matt earned his Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Nipissing University in North Bay and has completed a post-graduate diploma in Financial Services Management from Canadore College. Matt is currently working towards the CFP designation.


As a member of IAIC's ICPM Support Services team, Matt supports the organization's portfolio managers by performing research and assisting with client matters.


In his spare time, Matt is an ice hockey referee for the Centre Wellington & Woolwich Minor Hockey Association.


Jayson Bastien CPA, CA 
Investment Analyst


Jayson joined the IAIC team in October 2018 after 6 years in public accounting advising owner-manager businesses in accounting and tax matters.


Jayson earned his CPA, CA designations in 2015 and as of August 2018 completed the Canadian In-Depth tax program.


As a member of IAIC's ICPM Support Services team, Jayson supports the organization's portfolio managers by performing research and assisting with client matters.


Fred Mabee CFP, CIM

Investment Analyst


Fred has spent his career helping individuals, businesses and institutions create and preserve wealth.


Fred joined IAIC in 2019 and has over 20 years of experience in the investment management and financial planning industry primarily with large Canadian financial institutions as well as a US based, globally focused independent money management firm advising high net worth individuals and institutions.


Fred has a degree in Economics and Philosophy from Western University and is also a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM). Fred sits on a number of community based boards.


Belinda O'Brien, Administrator  

Belinda O'Brien



Belinda joined the financial services industry in 1998 working for a national firm in their administration group before becoming a branch manager.  In 2005, Belinda joined IAIC's administration group and worked closely with Financial Service Entities in servicing clients.  Belinda transferred to the ICPM Support Service division in 2011.
In her role as the ICPMSS Administrator, Belinda works directly with IAIC's Portfolio Managers monitoring the work flow process. She also oversees the ICPMSS email to ensure that all inquiries from the FSEs are distributed accordingly and replied to promptly.  In addition to administrative duties, Belinda also assists in compliance related matters.





Courtney Dowling, MOS

Senior Marketing Specialist



Courtney supports the IAIC Marketing department with operational and analytical support on marketing campaigns, events and initiatives.  


Courtney graduated from Conestoga College with a Business Diploma in 2013.  Courtney, enjoys photography and is always eager to snap pictures of her friends and family.



Jason Voll, IT Manager

IT Manager


Jason has worked in the accounting and information technology field for more than 10 years.  After earning a diploma in Business Administration – Accounting from Georgian College, Jason began his career at  a national accounting firm as a staff accountant.  Recognizing his knowledge of systems and software, the firm asked Jason to move into their IT department shortly after he joined their organization.  In 2003, Jason began working at Ward & Uptigrove Chartered Accountants as a staff accountant where his knowledge and expertise in computers resulted in him leading various IT related projects.   Jason joined IAIC in 2012 to help the organization advance its use of information technology.


As the IT Manager, Jason leads the organization in the development, implementation and maintaining of IT related processes and systems designed to enhance IAIC's operations.

Brenda Brown, CS Manager

Brenda graduated from the Ontario Business College in 1988 and immediately began her career in the financial services industry.  Prior to joining IAIC, Brenda worked at various banks and national wealth management firms in a variety of client service and administration roles.  Brenda began working in the administration group of IAIC in 2002, and supported the organization as the Client Service Manager until November 2018.


As Finance/Compliance Administrator Brenda provides administrative support to the firm's compliance and finance divisions.





Shannon Faulkner, CSR

Client Services Manager


Shannon graduated from Fanshawe College in 1999 and began working in the financial services industry in 2005.  Shannon worked as an Administrative Assistant and a Mutual Fund Dealer Administrator prior to joining IAIC in 2003.


As the Client Service Team Lead, Shannon is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Client Services Department and providing service excellence to clients.  Shannon brings a strong client centric service background and process improvement approach to her position. 

Jennifer Bournon, CSR

Jenn joined IAIC in January 2015. As a member of the IAIC Client Services Team, Jenn works directly with Financial Services Entities to process client requests and transactions. Jenn has many years of experience in financial service administrative support field having worked for two national investment firms. Jenn also ran her own business for several years offering childcare services out of her home. Jenn`s consistent attention to detail and commitment to clients ensures that all client requests are fulfilled on time.


Jenn loves a challenge, having recently completed her first half marathon. Jenn lives in Listowel with her husband and 3 children.

Amber McCraney, CSR

Amber joined IAIC in the spring of 2016. Amber's strengths are customer service, ability to prioritize, multitask. She brings an upbeat and positive attitude to her role  in supporting IAIC by processing client requests and transactions.  Amber has been in the Financial Industry since 2007 holding numerous roles with two major financial institutions. 


Amber holds a certificate in Social Media Marketing from Conestoga College and is a host for international exchange students. Since January 2009 Amber has been volunteering with the Steve Kerr Memorial Complex with the municipality on the fundraising committee.  


Marilyn Riff

Client Services Representative


Marilyn has been working in the wealth management industry since 1985.  Prior to joining IAIC, Marilyn worked for a multinational financial service firm where she served in a variety of customer service and financial consultant support roles, with a focus on areas related to information technology.  Through Career College, Marilyn has taken several courses to develop her computer software skill set.


Marilyn joined IAIC's clients services team in 2002. Amongst other administrative job functions, Marilyn is responsible for the generation of many of the client reports used by IAIC personnel in managing client portfolios.


Ashley Hiusser, CSR

Client Services Representative



Ashley has been working in the field of office administration for over ten years. She first started working in the administrative field with a local agri-business while attending university. Upon her graduation from the Honours English Literature program at the University of Waterloo, she branched out into client services as an education coordinator and administrative manager for a local college/ learning centre. She has also worked with a local real estate agency as a branch secretary.


Between her education and her past administrative experience, Ashley brings a unique background and perspective to the IAIC client services department. She is a life-long learner and actively seeks any chance to gain knew knowledge. In her spare time, Ashley enjoys tutoring local students, painting and spending time with her husband, daughter and son.


Riley Brown

Client Services Representative



Riley joined the IAIC team in September 2020. Riley has over 5 years of administrative experience including previous positions at a major financial institution and a non-profit organization. She also holds a certificate in Office Administration from Fanshawe College.


Riley prides herself on providing a high level of customer service and always bringing a positive attitude to her work. In her spare time, Riley enjoys spending time with friends and family, being active, trying new recipes and cheering on her favourite sports teams.


Christa Frey​

Client Services Representative


Christa joined IAIC in December of 2019.  She brings more than 7 years in administrative support services having worked previously for a large church.  Most recently Christa assisted in managing a local coffee and gift shop, where she developed her love of coffee but more importantly her love of interacting and assisting customers.  Her high level of customer service, attention to detail, and cheerful attitude make her a valued addition to the client services team.


Outside of IAIC, Christa is a makeup artist with a passion for helping women realize their true beauty and find their confidence.  She and her husband are active volunteers within the community and spend their free time raising their 4 children.

Andrea  works directly with the Financial Service Entities to process client requests and transactions and takes great pride in her work.

Professionally, Andrea strives for excellence and efficiency when completing all client service tasks.


She actively enjoys volunteering in her community and keeps busy with her two young children.
