Independent Accountants' Investment Counsel Inc.

Thank you for visiting the IAIC Careers page.

We are currently recruiting for the following positions within our organization.

PORTFOLIO MANAGER

Independent Accountants' Investment Counsel Inc. (IAIC) www.iaic.ca is a discretionary portfolio management company with offices in Waterloo and Listowel, Ontario and staff working remotely across Ontario.  As part of the Independent Accountants’ Financial Group Inc. (IAFG) www.iafgfirms.ca, IAIC is affiliated with the Independent Accountants’ Life Insurance Agency Inc. (IALIA) www.ialia.ca.

Established in 1999, IAIC currently manages more than $3 billion in private client assets. We provide discretionary investment management and financial planning services for private clients, corporations, estates, foundations, and individual pension plans. IAIC and its affiliated referring CPA firms offer a unique value proposition for the client, carefully integrating investment management with the client’s financial plan and accounting and tax work.  We invite you to visit our website at www.iaic.ca for more information about IAIC.

As Portfolio Managers, IAIC manages investment portfolios for families, individuals, private companies, estates and trusts. As a result of ongoing expansion, IAIC is seeking a Portfolio Manager (Advising Representative).

These roles differ from many of today’s investment management roles in that the successful candidates will not only be actively involved with clients, but will also work on securities research and selection. Consistent with its strategy of being responsive to each client’s unique situation and needs, IAIC does not invest client assets in pooled funds but instead creates customized portfolios of individual securities based on its proprietary research.

Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer of IAIC, the Portfolio Managers regularly interact with prospective and existing clients. However, unlike many wealth management opportunities, this role will leverage the Portfolio Manager’s knowledge, diligence and wisdom to a greater extent than business development savvy or existing relationships. Well-suited candidates for this position will have more than five years of experience in investment management along with a track record of proven asset management skills with a value-based investment philosophy.

The Portfolio Manager (Advising Representative) will primarily work at/from a home office.  Post pandemic constraints, there may be some travel on a regular basis to service clients at IAIC’s affiliated referring firms throughout the region.

For further information or to purse this position, please contact Tonya Wilson at [email protected]

We are committed to providing a barrier free workplace. If accommodation is required during the selection and/or interview process, it will be available upon request. This job posting is available in an accessible format upon request.

We thank all candidates for their interest; however only those candidates selected for further screening will be contacted.
